Aug 14 2008 …the night i got geared up for my much awaited first trek with my bro and roomies…..reached an hour before @ central railway station an earlier and was flipping thru magazines and the one thing i learnt from is about the upcoming gated communities in india and effects …. BTW tme moved on…..
i skipped my dinner and had a juice over the counter …. praveen , gokul and arul then joined me and then we moved to train ……. we had a small chat about the plans about the trip ….and the night went on …..

Aug 15 …we woke up in karnataka ….brushed up and the famous maddur vada which was surprisingly awesome with the coffee at that time ..so i got added up to those maddur vada fans in the train…when we reached mysore it was such a pleasent and calm city….we were greeted with name board by mahesh driver..thanks to pria for arranging such a nice cab……after starting from mysore ,the first place we saw was gopalaswamy hills….a beautiful ride on a hill inside bandhipur estate…a must go place for every one….we had good prasdham and felt we should have skiipped the breakfast on the way… …after starting from there we reached meppadi at near to 3 pm…where we went to soochipara falls… we had a cool bath in the fresh crispy water …thought of lying there for a while but time didnt permit …..we planned to start to look for a room either in meppadi or kalpetta….we took a wrong decision of skippin meppadi and went directly to kalpetta looking for room.Luck left us so soon ,we did’nt get rooms over there most of the tourist home were booked in advance..After a long time we found a home stay in an ayurvedhic centre ….where we had spent the rest of the night …we ended up in the bed after few chat and light off!!!!!!!

Aug 16…the time for trek had arrived ….. we did’nt pack up much snce its a 5 hrs trek…. after gong through few blogs from usandeep and few others, we were quite confident
we can cover many places .only thing we missed out was time …we started around 10 am and reached chembra estate only at 11 am after our breakfast…we were very happy to see the bill
after our huge breakfast….

we started the trek by 11.30 at watch tower..we stopped under a tree and had a break even before trek cos of those gentle rain drizzles….thank god for the rain….we were heading down slope on the wrong way intead of up hill ..thanks to those frends we met who trekked down and retuned after 4 hours who saved us from the disaster to happen..then we found a small route to peak where we went alone for a long time with puzzled faces…smile jumped out of us when we heard few voices and saw few people..we we started up so energetic till we climbed the two mountains and reached the heart lake …gokul and arul slumped after hearing from the people about the distance to the peak …we were more surprised to see a bunch of married couples in the trek while crossing them…

Gokul and arul made their hault after climbing the third mountain…since it was fog every where no body couldnt judge the distance of the peak..in fact we could’nt see the peak…so praveen and myself gave the bag to them and started movin up with packet of biscuits and water…after climbing two mountains..i was stumbled on the illusion the peak gave ….i stopped then and there and prepared for a hault ..whenever we went up the mountain we can see another one and on and on and on…we promised them that we ll return in 40 mins at max….finally we reach the last hill full of rocks and beleive me it was a harder one… Finally we saw the peak …whoooooooo!!!!… we reached the peak and we were the only two @ 3pm there ….after taking a short rest we had few clicks and returned back in hurry to reach the watch tower before sunset… Special thanks to the leeches for no being there except @ peak…We reached down with my torn adidas ;( @ 5.30 pm with a satisfaction of touching the peak …The night went on with few painful moans from others but i dont think it was tht painful rather than excitement….

Aug 17 ..
The plans for the day were few …we went for another falls …. had some time there and headed up to mysore planning to visit the palace before our train..but unfortunately lot of distraction on seeing the elephants in the forest and fresh watermelon on fields and a temple visit suggested by our driver ….we reached mysore at 5.30 by which the gates were closed …we were totally down when we saw the gates being closed in front of us ..we were late by minutes….we don’t have much places to go in mysore before train at 7.30…we took the diver with us and asked for place to shop and will u believe he dropped at an home expo…hahaha..anyways we spent some time there….and captured the glittering beauty of palace in night…and took the train on time…

the trip ends with sweet and funny memories……!!!!!!!!!!!!
